2001 Festival
Year 2 saw the festival move to October (Whitby Pavilion was already fully booked for every weekend in September). Although the weather wasn’t so good lots of people preferred the dates as it coincided with half-term and so it has remained in mid-late October from then on.
With Arts Council support year 2 the festival was able to develop its programming and the line-up saw Osibisa, Martin Simpson, The Dhol Foundation, Chacon Y Su Orquesta, Jean “Binta” Breeze, Back To Base, Boneshaker Sansaar & Kora Colours all giving sparkling performances. Local band Banoffi more than held their own.
