Oops! We spoke too soon ... enthusiasm got the better of us! If you received a message that 2012 festival tickets would be available from 1st January, I'm afraid you'll have to be patient for a little longer. We're simply not able to do this just yet - but watch this space and your inbox/postbox for further news ... we'll let you know as soon as we're able to make tickets available. In the meantime, we'd like to wish you all a very Happy New Year - with lots of positive wishes for a successful and music-filled year. We're still enjoying memories of the 2011 festival, especially through reading the book which came out of it "Stories from a World of Music". Why not treat yourself to a copy? We had some great feedback from the festival and there were some sublime performances .. Hugh Masekela was brilliant as expected. Mari Boine , Natalie Duncan , Mary Coughlan & Mercedes Peon gave the most stunning main stage performances . Other performances of note : Krar Collective, Cigdem Aslan ,Julaba Kunda , 12lve (Goldie's Band)....but in fact it is impossible to choose stand-out acts as there were just so many of them. Boy With Tape On His Face , Andy Kershaw, Chris Wood, Jonny Kearney & Lucy Farrell & Claudia Aurora seem to have been particular favourites in the theatre ... Blair Dunlop, Me & My Friends, Geoff Berner, Fran Smith , Changing Horses , Brigid Kaelin on North Sea Stage - I could go on ... |
